Description

Every team has work that consists of moving information from one tool to another: copying form entries into a spreadsheet, creating invoices from deals, posting updates in chat, sending the same onboarding emails again and again. Zapier and Make let you automate this work without writing code. This course teaches you to build automations that are useful, reliable and maintainable.

What you will learn

We start with the thinking that matters most: choosing what to automate and mapping a process before touching a tool. Then you build workflows in both Zapier and Make, so you understand their different strengths.

  • Triggers, actions, data mapping and filters
  • Paths and routers for branching logic
  • Formatter tools, iterators and aggregators for shaping data
  • Webhooks for connecting tools without a ready made integration
  • Error handling, alerts and logging so failures do not go unnoticed
  • Security basics for API keys, permissions and personal data

Real workflows

You will build four workflows that small teams use every day: routing new leads to the right salesperson, processing invoices from email attachments, onboarding new clients with tasks and welcome messages, and publishing content to several channels from one source.

Who it is for

Operations staff, marketers, office managers, founders and freelancers who spend hours on repetitive tasks. No coding is needed. Free plans of Zapier and Make are enough for most exercises, although a few features such as multi step paths or premium apps require a paid plan, which I point out where relevant.

Who this course is for

  • Operations and admin staff drowning in repetitive tasks
  • Founders and freelancers who want to save hours each week
  • Marketers and sales teams connecting their tools

I help small teams remove repetitive work. In practice that means mapping how a process really runs, finding the copy and paste steps, and replacing them with automations and simple internal tools built in Zapier, Make, n8n and Airtable.

I teach automation as a craft with rules: start from the process, not the tool, design for failures, log what happens and document each flow so someone else can maintain it. I also cover the less glamorous topics such as API keys, webhooks, rate limits and data privacy.

Each course is built around workflows I have set up many times, like lead routing, invoice handling and onboarding checklists, so you can adapt them straight away.

Saved me hours every week

The lead routing workflow now runs for our whole sales team. I had tried before but the process mapping lesson made the difference.

Invoice workflow is brilliant

Our finance assistant now only approves invoices instead of typing them. Human approval step was a smart touch.

Great comparison of both tools

Building the same workflow in Zapier and Make helped me choose Make for our heavier processes.

Error handling section is essential

My automations used to fail silently. Alerts and a daily log fixed that. Some features needed a paid plan.

Clear and well organised

Short lessons that build on each other. The iterators and aggregators lesson finally made sense of Make.

Pricing changes caught me out

Good content, but plan limits differed from what I expected. Check current pricing as the course suggests.

Security lesson appreciated

I had been connecting everything with my personal account. Service accounts and least privilege are now our standard.
