Use the React you know to build, test and publish an iOS and Android app with Expo Router, EAS Build and over the air updates
Created by Diego Salazar
If you already write React for the web, React Native lets you use the same components, hooks and TypeScript to build real native apps. Expo is the framework the React Native team recommends for new projects, and it removes most of the native setup pain: no Xcode project to configure on day one, file based routing, and cloud builds when you are ready to ship.
In this course we build Pantry, a small app for tracking what is in your kitchen. It has tabs, a barcode scanner, a local database, push notifications for items about to expire and a sign in screen. You will run it on your own phone from the first lesson.
You should know React well: components, props, state and hooks. You do not need any native iOS or Android experience. We explain the native concepts, such as permissions, app signing and bundle identifiers, as they come up.
By the end you will have a working app on your phone, a build pipeline and a clear idea of when to reach for native code.
Mobile developer teaching Flutter and React Native for apps that ship to both stores
I build cross platform mobile apps, mostly with Flutter and React Native, and I have taken a fair number of them through App Store and Google Play review. I like the moment an app runs on a real phone in someone's hand, and I teach toward that moment.
In my courses you build one app across the whole course, with navigation, local storage, network calls and a proper release build at the end. I spend time on the boring details, like app icons, permissions and signing, because that is where beginners usually get stuck.
I also write about the trade offs between the two frameworks without picking a side.

I have built React web apps for years. This course showed exactly what is different on mobile without repeating React basics.
The file based routing lessons, especially modals and deep links, were clear and immediately useful.
The build and update section saved me from a lot of documentation reading. I would like more on custom native modules.
Running the app on my own phone so early kept me motivated. The barcode scanner was a fun touch.
Few courses cover offline queues. The pattern here is simple but works well in my own app.
If your React is shaky this moves fast. The content itself is good and well organised.
